Exploring Photography as a way to Well Being
My Playground
Date: 8th December 2024
Time: 1830 – 2100
Location: Millenium Square Bristol.
Adrian is a bit odd, his words! He prefers it when the nights draw in and the sun hides itself a little earlier. Indeed add a few wet payments and his birthday and Christmas comes together. Why?
Well, Bristol is an endless opportunity for photography no more so than during the longer nights. From classic street photography, bokeh as the Christmas lights have come on, light trails and reflections, silhouettes, neon signs the list goes on.
During our time together under Adrian’s encouragement we will have an opportunity to see what a city looks like at night, try and experiment with different shots and for those would like, to be a little creative.
Based around the Bristol City Centre we will meet around 6.30 and end around 9.00pm.
Some of the opportunities we will look at:
- Seeing at the telling the story of the city at night.
- Explore the opportunities for silhouettes.
- Working with light and shadows.
- Exploring your camera settings.
- Bokeh photography.
- Experiment with light trails, even without a tripod!
- Legalities for photographing people and buildings.
- Just come wrapped for the weather with camera in hand and see what the city gives us.
Although this course is best suited for those with a DSLR there are plenty of opportunities for those with smartphones. Tripods (including phone tripods) can help but are not essential.
