Urban Space: Brandon Hill
Date: 11th September
Time: 10.00 – 12.00pm
Each day we are being bombarded with sights and sounds, agendas and priorities, yet so rarely make the priority ourselves. And too often when we think of making space for ourselves, we think of the need to travel and get away. Reality often makes this neither viable financially nor in our busy diaries.
If that, too often is your reality this is a photography walk just for you. Just a 10 minute walk from the very centre of Bristol, 5 minutes from the shops and plentiful coffee houses (which we can make use of after) Adrian has a heartfelt affinity to Brandon Hill and Cabot Tower, having proposed to his wife at the top of the Cabot Tower. It has also always been the place in the city he heads to when he wants that bit of space and calm and to practice Mindful Photography for well-being and good mental health.
Brandon Hill is rich photography opportunities. From views over the city (and the Tower if open) to calmness of the waters, the changing colours of the season, the pathways and secluded seating to the natural world of squirrels preparing for winter this is a place to reconnect with calm and find a few moments for yourself.
During our time Adrian will offer guidance in:
- Introduce the concept of photography for well-being.
- Give guidance and techniques for slowing down in our photography.
- Looking for photographs beyond the views to light, shade, shadows and colour.
- Explore camera settings and
- Provide and opportunity to photograph and wildlife in action.
A couple of hours of you time, suitable for those with years of experience or none and from smart phones to tablets and Digital Cameras and absolutely no photography experience is needed.
Please Note: Book any 2 of Adrian’s courses at the same time and get a third £30 – £35 course for free. Just email for details.
