Exploring Photography as a way to Well Being

Urban Space: Arnos Vale Mindful Walk

Date: Sunday 23rd October

Time / Date: 1000 – 1300

Cost: £35.00 per person.

Each day we are being bombarded with sights and sounds, agendas and priorities, yet so rarely make the priority ourselves. And too often when we think of making space for ourselves, we think of the need to travel and get away. Reality often makes this neither viable financially or in our diaries.

If that, too often is your reality this is a photography walk just for you.

Suitable for all people and all camera types from camera phones, tablets and DSLR, Arnos Vale cemetery is an often undiscovered photography gem located on the A37 just a 20 minute walk or so from Bristol Temple Meads.

Full of pathways and trails it is an endless opportunity for any photographer to be fully present in the surroundings. There is no rush as we take in together nature, colour, shapes, shadows and textures and possibly even some street art! Arnos Vale provides every opportunity to try out some new camera settings as together we take in all that is around us.

Adrian, who lives locally regularly uses Arnos Vale for his own mindful photography and has led groups here for photography and well being walks.

During our time Adrian will offer guidance in:

  • Slowing down and creating space in photography for well being.
  • The essence of Mindful Photography.
  • Exploring camera settings, including those on camera phones.
  • Working with light and shadows.
  • Exploring the opportunities for silhouettes.
  • Hearing some of the stories of the grounds.

Notes: The path at the start of the walk is on a steeper incline but we are in no rush. Come prepared with appropriate footwear. At the time of writing the café should be open at the beginning and end of our walk.

Free parking is available on site.

Please Note: Book any 2 of Adrian’s courses at the same time and get a third £30 – £35 course for free. Just email for further details.
