Date: Saturday 11th March
Time: 11:00 – 2pm
Few places have changed as much in the last few years, while retaining their history and charm as Gloucester Docks. To this day it’s 15 Victorian look over the area, the protectors to Britain’s most inland port.
Today those Victorian buildings mingle with modern facilities, a working dock, mariners chapel, visiting narrow boats, motor cruisers and the odd yacht or ship. This is an area so worth exploring even beyond the photographic opportunities it brings with its museums and even a prison with all its history and alleged ghosts.
But I digress. This is a photography workshop somewhere different. We will wonder the docks, exploring the opportunities this wonderful location provides.
Here is a place to develop composition, different perspectives, understanding camera settings and explore how the changing light provides a symphony of photo possibilities.
For those who wish, of course Gloucester Cathedral is a short stroll away a wonderful place to photograph get creative with white balance and shadows.
On this workshop Adrian will:
- Help us explore our cameras, whether that be camera phones, tablets or all singing and dancing DSLR.
- Look at composition and framing.
- Understand ISO, white balance, and semi-automatic settings.
- Consider the use of colour or black and white.
- Provide whatever tuition or input you wish for your camera.
Appropriate for all experiences or none, we will meet under the Candle Sculpture and set out from here.
